Cocaine Trafficking in Georgia

If you are facing cocaine trafficking charges, call defense attorney Allen Trapp at 770-830-8560 today.

This is one offense where purity of the product really does matter. When a person possesses, sells, or delivers 28 grams or more of cocaine or a mixture that is ten percent or more of cocaine, he or she can be charged with trafficking.

Penalties for cocaine trafficking

In addition to six-figure fines, which are rarely collected, a person with less than 200 grams may be sentenced to imprisonment for no less than ten years. If the individual had between 200 and 400 grams, the mandatory minimum term is fifteen years. If the quantity of cocaine is 400 grams or more, the minimum sentence increases to twenty-five years.

When the mixture is less than ten percent cocaine, the total weight of the mixture is multiplied by the percentage of cocaine contained in the mixture to determine which, if any, of the weight limits are applicable.
